Join Madikela Tours and fellow Explorers in this opportunity to share an equipped 4 X 4 safari vehicle such as a Land Rover, for your self-guided tours to explore Southern Africa on your own plan and at your leisure.


Benefits and Terms of Participation


Your contribution to Madikela Tours of R50 000 provides you with:


  • 21 days of use of a fully equipped vehicle use for tent camping per year for each of two  years
  • Licensed for exploration of South Africa and Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Swaziland, Lesotho, Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania.
  • Need more time?  Then extend your adventure at a rate of R1,500/day [1]



The vehicle will be:

  • Equipped for camping for four people if needed
  • Documented for travel in South Africa and Neighbouring countries
  • Available to participants through an advanced booking system
  • Available for shorter or additional rental during periods it is not booked by participants at a market rate (Currently R2,500 per day)
  • Insured with SATIB, underwriters of Lloyds of London
  • Serviced and maintained
  • Provided with fuel and cooking gas (to be returned full)
  • Maintained by Madikela in a good working condition
  • Vehicles are registered in Madikela Tours’ or their associate, AfriTracks, name
  • Engaged by participants subject to the terms and conditions of a standard vehicle rental (engagement agreement)


If required, participants will be provided with an emergency maintenance and drivers training for a full day in the Pretoria or Johannesburg area by a Madikela representative in advance of your self-guided tour at an additional cost.  Should you request the training, please ensure that you factor it into your program.
